The school’s library serves the entire NYSD community, from pre-schoolers through high school seniors as well as staff, parents and the wider deaf community. Designed specifically to meet the educational needs of deaf students, the library’s collection contain more than 10,000 books and 8,000 audiotapes and captioned videotapes.
The collection includes fiction and non-fiction books, periodicals and audio-visual materials, as well as a wide range of sign language videos and books. Our professional library also focuses on the special concerns related to the education of deaf children, particularly their language development.
