School based Occupational & Physical Therapists focus on removing barriers from a student’s ability to learn and helping students to increase independence in the school environment.
Using direct and indirect services, as well as assistive technology and environmental modifications, school therapists collaborate with parents, teachers and other educational staff to help implement a child’s planned program. In addition, therapists identify and obtain special equipment and train school staff on ways to incorporate interventions and practice of motor skills into the classroom. School-based occupational therapy (OT) and physical therapy (PT) services are provided to eligible students from early childhood through high school.
