1817 - 2017 Celebrating 200 Years of Excellence in Deaf Education
New York School for the Deaf is proud of its rich history. We are the oldest school for the deaf in New York State and the second oldest in the United States. Thousands of students who became productive and successful students have graduated from Fanwood. We are inviting you to partner with us to make new records over the next 200 years. New York School for the Deaf Foundation is hosting The Black and White Gala on October 5, 2017. We are thrilled that Oscar winner, Marlee Matlin, will be our honorary Chair and join us that evening. We know she will make the event a once in a lifetime experience for our guests!
Please partner with us so we can move into the 21st Century and fulfill our dream of being the cutting edge school of the future for deaf and hard of hearing children. All proceeds from this event will directly benefit the students at NYSD. Specifically, we will implement a strong Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) program with the latest technology, literacy and language development available. Additionally, we will broaden our vocational training program to meet the needs of the workforce.
